Sexual And Reproductive Health

Maternal And Child Health

Specialized Health Services

  • Item Educational resources and support for patients with blood clots (thrombosis), including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Provides evidence-based patient guides, educational materials, and information about prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of clotting conditions.

  • Free, confidential support service to help people cut back or quit using tobacco products. Trained cessation counselors provide information about quitting tobacco use, help create quit plans, assist with managing cravings and triggers, and offer ongoing support. Available 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week.

  • Virtual group education treatment program for adult Albertans experiencing persistent pain longer than 3 months. Interactive program led by licensed health providers incorporates peer support and connects participants with others living with pain while learning management strategies.

  • Responds to the immediate needs of persons with dementia living in community settings and their care partners, providing health-related advice, education, community resource information, and emotional support. Between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily, specialized dementia nurses provide assessment and advice for immediate concerns.
